Beltrame Civil was engaged by the Department for Water and Environment to complete the Mukanthi Playspace Car Park Upgrade at the Morialta Conservation Park. The scope of works included significant tree root zone investigation prior to bulk excavations; installation of tree protection zones; tree removal in accordance with the project arborist; detailed excavation to subgrade of 1200m3 of existing material; supply and placement of 8000m2 of quarry pavement; supply and placement of 2500m2 of new carpark asphalt; supply and placement of 1500m2 of new bus deep lift asphalt; new drainage construction using 450mm x 300mm Box Culverts and Headwalls to suit; landscaping including new rubble footpaths, 130 timber bollards and access gates; soft scaping including 4000 new plantings and trees; installation of an automated irrigation system; and 12 months maintenance of landscaping.
Beltrame Civil was engaged by Fulton Hogan to reconstruct the Runway End Safety Areas (RESA) 12 & 30 adjacent either end of the main runway of Moomba Aerodrome. The project involved adherence to strict Santos and airfield safety requirements. The development and implementation of Method of Working Plan (MOWP) to conform with airside operating requirements including shift plans coordinated with aircraft movement times. A progressive excavation and backfill work methodology was implemented to ensure that all areas were made safe prior to the movement of any aircraft. Works included the demolition and disposal of 11,000m2 of existing cement treated pavement; preparation and compaction of subgrade; onsite mixing and conditioning of PM1/20 to OMC; transport, placement and compaction 5,000 tonnes of PM1/20; insitu stabilisation of pavement areas to achieve 4% cement treated; and trimming of flank areas to match new design levels.
Beltrame Civil were engaged by the City of West Torrens to reconstruct Aldridge Terrace in Marleston. The project scope involved more than 500m of road reconstruction, including 150mm of rubble working platform on the road and deeplift asphalt pavement comprised of 50mm AC10 and 75mm AC14. Kerb, driveway and footpath construction, verge construction including 52 tree pits, and irrigation and tree well construction for 52 trees.
Beltrame Civil were engaged by the City of West Torrens to complete the Wainhouse Street Upgrade, with works extending from Ashley Street to Carlton Parade. The project included the demolition and reconstruction of the existing road pavement, construction of new concrete kerbs, footpaths and driveway crossovers, demolition and reconstruction of existing stormwater drainage infrastructure, paving and landscaping works.
Beltrame Civil formed part of a multi-disciplinary airports project team for this major airport maintenance works which also involved over 20,000 tonnes of asphalt on the RPT Apron and main feeder taxiways. Beltrame Civil completed all civil works on the project including the demolition of 6000m2 of asphalt pavement; excavation and disposal to stockpile of 10,000t of spoil; supply and placement of 3,500m2 of concrete pavement; and supply, transport, placement and compaction of 9,000t of PM2/20 Cement Treated 3% quarry material.
The project also included an extremely time critical night works component, requiring the Beltrame team to demolish, reconstruct, and prepare for asphalting of sections of the taxiway pavement, in readiness for continued passenger airplane traffic at the end of each shift.
Following a successful completion of Stage 1 of the Alexndrina Road Upgrade project, Beltrame Civil was contracted to reconstruct an approx. 300m section of Alexandrina Road between Oborn Road West and Davenport Tce. Included in the scope of works was 250m of stormwater drainage DN750 to DN375 and a large GPT unit, installation of DPTI lighting, more than 600m of kerbing, 250m2 of concrete footpath, and 2200m2 of deep lift asphalt pavement.
A part of the District Council of Mt Barker's project to upgrade Bald Hills Rd and create a non-stop North-South freight corridor between the SE Freeway and the township, including the reconstruction of approximately a 700m section of Bald Hills Road between the Old Princes Hwy and Davidson Rd, Blakiston.
Construction scope included 4 of 25m 600x450RCBC stormwater road crossings, CST trenching for lighting, 610m of 100mm subsoil drain, 120m of 1.2m sleeper retaining wall. The demolition of 4985m2 of existing pavement, cut to fill of 1600m3, the supply and placement of 4800m2 of PM2/20 base course, 680m of 150mm kerb and gutter, the supply and placement of 5050m2 of deep lift asphalt pavement including 1275m2 of unsealed shoulder and the supply and installation of 550m of DPTI spec guard rail.
Alexandrina Road is a significant route within the Mount Barker township as it provides a vital line between Adelaide Road, Bald Hills Road and recently completed 2nd Mt Barker freeway interchange.Beltrame Civil was contracted to reconstruct an approx. 280m section of Alexandrina Road between Oborn Rd East and Hartman Rd, inclusive of more than 500m of kerbing, installation of utility services including sewer rising main, stormwater drainage and DPTI lighting, as well as 2700m2 of deeplift asphalt road pavement.
The project brief was to construct a roundabout at the intersection of Bald Hills Rd and Springs Rd, Mt Barker. This intersection had been a major black spot for vehicle accidents for many years and now forms part of the new freight route access to Mt Barker from the proposed second Mt Barker freeway interchange.
Construction scope included 350m of DN375 stormwater pipeline, 250m of CST trenching for LV, lighting and telecommunications. The demolition of 4500m2 of existing pavement, cut to fill on site of 3100m3, the supply and placement of 5700m2 of PM2/20 base course, 600m of 150mm kerb and gutter, 4800m2 of deep lift asphalt pavement, 650m of median island kerb with infill and the supply and installation of 10.5m DPTI spec impact adsorbing light poles.
A tight 16 week construction program saw the supply and installation of 400m of a DN375 to DN600 RCP drainage network. The demolition and reconstruction of 7500m2 of deep lift asphalt pavement, 2250m of 150mm kerb and gutter, x2 mountable roundabouts, concrete footpath and driveways for both residential and industrial properties. The project required detailed liaison with the many residents and businesses directly affected by the works.
Two stages of construction totalling an 8 week program including DN450 stormwater, the demolition of 4600m2 of existing pavement and reconstruction of a two lane 14m wide roadway including a major four way roundabout providing access to the regional bus terminal, 5100m2 of deep lift pavement. With major traffic control restrictions, the pavement was reconstructed within a four week period. Traffic management was so successful that the client received considerable positive local media coverage.
